아프간 수도 카불에서 지난달 20일 폭탄 공격으로 적어도 두 명이 부상했다.
카리 사이드 코스티 대변인은 "카불 동물원에서 수류탄 1발이 카불 경찰 3구역 데마짱 광장에 주둔하고 있는 탈레반 보안군을 향해 투척됐다"라고 밝혔다. 그는 그 공격의 배후에 있는 범인들을 잠재우기 위한 수색 작전이 시작됐다고 말했다.
그러나 현지 주민들은 이번 폭발이 카불 경찰본부 인근 교통권을 지나던 탈레반 픽업트럭을 겨냥한 급조폭발물장치(IED) 폭발이라고 주장했다.
신화통신에 따르면 현지시각 오전 7시 50분(GMT 0320분)에 대폭발과 함께 발생했으며, 이로 인해 사람들은 공포에 휩싸였고 하늘로 회색 연기가 피어올랐다. 적어도 한 명이 사망하고 세 명의 학생을 포함한 일곱 명이 부상했다.
그 공격에 대한 책임을 주장하는 단체는 아직 없다.
8월 중순 탈레반이 장악한 이후 아프가니스탄 전역의 안보 상황은 대체로 평온하지만 불확실하다. 그러나 최근 몇 주 동안 몇몇 아프간 지역에서 이슬람 국가 관련 무장세력에 의해 치명적인 폭탄 공격이 행해지고 있다.
금요일에는 남부 칸다하르주의 주도 칸다하르시의 한 이슬람 사원 안에서 두 명의 IS 무장세력이 자살 폭탄 공격을 감행한 후 적어도 47명의 신도들이 사망하고 90명이 부상했다.

KABUL, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were wounded in a bomb attack in the Afghan capital on Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Interior confirmed.
A hand grenade was hurled from the Kabul Zoo towards Taliban security forces stationed in Dehmazang Square, Dehmazang locality in Police District 3 of Kabul, spokesperson Qari Saeed Khosty wrote on his social media account. He said a search operation was launched to nap the culprits behind the attack.
However, local residents said the explosion was an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast targeting a Taliban pickup truck that was passing by the traffic circle near the Kabul police headquarters.
"The explosion occurred roughly at 7:50 a.m. local time (0320 GMT) with a big bang, causing panic among the people and sending a gray smoke to the sky," a witness told Xinhua. At least one person was killed and seven others, including three students, were wounded, he said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
The security situation has remained generally calm but uncertain across Afghanistan since the Taliban's takeover in mid-August. However, deadly bomb attacks have been staged by Islamic State-affiliated militants in several Afghan provinces in recent weeks.
On Friday, at least 47 worshippers were killed and 90 others wounded after two IS militants launched suicide bomb attacks inside a mosque in Kandahar city, capital of southern Kandahar province.
